Wheelchair racing is a great way to meet new people and have fun especially for those who find themselves restricted by being in a wheelchair.
One of the most dynamic and spectacular of all wheelchair sports is the wheelchair racing. Athletes reach the speed of 35kph on the athletics track field and up to 90kph on the downhill section of a road race.
100 meters to 5,000 meters events on the track and from 5 km up to marathon distance of 42 km in road racing is the mostly played distance range of which the racers can compete in wheelchair racing.
Wheelchair racing is a great way to meet new people and have fun especially for those who find themselves restricted by being in a wheelchair. It is important to consider the type of chair that you are interested to use in the competition. The manual wheelchair must possess a center of gravity adjustment device allowing the chair to change direction without becoming unsafe or unstable. The weight of the adaptive sports is as well a major factor in choosing the suitable wheelchair racing equipment.
Custom-built with today's most advanced materials is the wheelchair racing integrated with full-fender design and precise aerodynamic steering making the adaptive sports equipment an icon in positioning, speed, strength and performance.
The top end of the wheelchair racing is designed for speed with the super-stiff roll-formed horizontal main tube, combined with a relaxed head tube angle made for exceptional stability and aerodynamics and an oversized rake fork for maximum traction. The aluminum side panels, straight axle tube with rear wheel alignment, aluminum fork and aero bars are the main materials used in the custom build of the wheelchair parts. The custom aluminum frame is polished in the powder coat paint finish, kneeling, amputee adjustable upholstery, and 700C high performance clincher or tubular wheels or tires with ½? treaded axles. |
