Physical Disability ? this is a situation wherein, a person is not able to do a certain task because a part of his physique or body does not respond or cannot work temporarily or permanently.
A physical disability is usually caused by spinal cord injuries, which we often get from accidents. In some cases, having brain injuries cause physical disabilities. Physical disability usually affects the whole mobilization of a person's entire body.
There are several types of physical disabilities, these include;
Cerebral Palsy, a loss of sensation or loss of ability to control movement, which is frequently caused by trauma at birth; mobility, vision, or learning impairment is possible but not present in all cases. Mental retardation is also present in a small number of cases.
Spina bifida, a defective closure of the spinal column, often there is a loss of sensation below the defect, impairment in moving parts controlled at that level of the spinal cord and below; sometimes is accompanied by incontinence depending on area were defect is located.
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease primarily affecting the gastrointestinal and pulmonary systems usually characterized by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Down's Syndrome is a congenital birth defect manifesting itself in moderate-to-severe mental retardation. (Mental retardation is only one of a number of disabilities that are associated with Down's.) Depending on how a person is affected, Down's syndrome is often classified as a developmental disability instead of -- or in addition to -- a physical disability.
Disability is referred as the disadvantage or deficiency, especially a physical impairment that interferes with or prevents normal achievement in a particular area. Disability has its kinds; first, the physical disability; second, the acquired disability, the type of disability that can occur at any given time and without regards to gender or ethnicity. While instances of occurrence with some of these disabilities may be more frequent in one population than in another, this does not mean it is impossible for one to acquire the disability while another definitely may be affected. The third kind of disability is developmental disability, which is defined as any congenital abnormality or disease that delays the rate of growth, development, or maturation. An individual with this disability is often globally referred to as a person with "learning disability". But, this is not entirely true. While learning disabilities are a part of developmental disability, one can have a developmental disability and a learning disability; they are not necessarily linked, nor are they necessarily exclusive.
There are also a lot of cases of injuries caused by accidents that lead to physical disability. For example, a spinal cord injury ? this is a type of injury that usually gives permanent disability to a person; it may be a crack in the spinal cord. Having a broken ligament can also cause physical disability to a person, but this is usually temporary; a person may someday recover from this.
